nest of vac hoses and would give easier access to the injectors, i would also think that it would be a lot lighter than the stock plenum and if you gave it a platic or urethane spacer you could insulate it from asorbing heat from the engine. Have you ever touched your pleunum after an hour of driving? It can be really hot i don't see how an intercooler can work efficently after having to flow back into buring hot upper plenum for those that are boosted. Na could probly benifit too.
