Message Yes, Raising boost levels is the main source of power gains when matched with the right timing and fuel delivery for the twin turbo engine. However, an ECU alone CAN give some gain, while it is not as drastic as increasing the boost, changing timing and A/F ratio can result in gains throughout the powerband. Timing and fuel delivery can change the mean effective pressure for the cylinder, which is while small, a component of the HP equation.

IHP = PLAN/33000

P - Effective pressure
L - Length of Stroke
A - Area (cylinder)
N - Number of cylinders
