My stock wheels have always been kept immaculate. No brake dust spots, scratches, peeling, etc. etc. Last year, I didnt get a chance to wash the wheels the way I usually do before winter, hence I put the Z away for the winter with dirty wheels. Fast forward to spring of this year. Car comes out of hibernation, I clean it up, wash wax etc. etc. and the wheels have brake dust spots all over them that will not come off for shit. Question is, does anyone know of any product that actually works? Ive tried every wheel cleaner available at autozone but to no avail. Ive even tried wheel cleaner and a small piece of soft wood to scrape this crap off and its not working all that great. My gf suggested some kind of tar remover that she used on her wheels and it supposedely worked. Im worried about the clear coat coming off which is why I wont try anything to drastic - yet.
