it would make a difference if your motor used a carburetor, but since we have fuel injection it won't matter. Fuel injection systems measure the amount of air intake and injects fuel accordingly. A dirty intake will restrict air flow, and therefore fuel, so it won't matter. Performance will certainly improve, but not fuel economy.
And, yes, this board is full of haters. Get used to it. A large proportion of members on this board are well educated and more conservative in their opinions of aesthetics.
