Message You should be fine. In reality oil does break down over time. Natural usually faster than synthetic. More importantly the chemicals added to oil can breakdown. Usually this requires exposure to light though. You should be fine. Oil most likely has a usable life of a couple years. To say that it was created millions of years ago is a bit misleading. The crude oil from which petroleum products (motor oil, gasoline, plastics, etc.) is highly refined and modified. As such it is not a very accurate statement.
