| I second the motion. He probably didn't really mean Carbon Fiber brake pads. If he did I sure hope he accompanied them with carbon fiber rotors. If he had Carbon Fiber brakes his car would not stop period with the brakes cold. I help a friend roll a kart off a truck. It had carbon fiber brakes. You could easily push it with the brakes fully engaged. Once the brakes heated up they worked great. He probably meant carbon/ceramic brakes. He should follow your suggestions NIXIT. A note about brakes and stopping. Many people love to say,"I couldn't stop my car, these brakes suck." That is an unintellegent statment. If you can lock your brakes up (or get ABS to actuate them) at speed and repeatedly, your brakes are more than adequate. Stopping distance is more a function of vehicle weight, inital speed and traction than it is brake performance. You could have 12 piston calipers and you're brakeing would still suck if you have a heavy stereo system and crappy tires. A car is a system of parts working together. Performance is not dictated by one of these systems alone.
