Message most of other car model had much shorter life span, even if z only had 6 years sales in u.s., that's still good

I think nissan did a good job at z32, sale of z32 was great at the first 3 years, what left us is that there are more z on the road than any japanese super cars. nsx? harder to find than ferrari. 3kgt? overran by less sl and stealth, hardly ever see any real vr-4. the last time I saw supra on regular newspaper ad was a few years ago, it was like $20k for a na, and never seen one since, same for rx7.

z32 is just way advanced for its time, and a trailblazer achieved much more success than others. tuned z32 can still hang with the latest supercar on the road. we are talking about a 15 years old car first produced in 1989, the whole thing is just overengineered. l mean look at the engine, over built iron block built for turbo charge that left the engine weight over 500 lbs in NA form, that compare to a ~400lbs LS1 over almost twice the displacement.

it's just faith that z32 is deem less tuning friendly partly due to its set up, V6 tt twin everything. in other part of the world, z sometime called "fat car to put fat american in" as in that BBC? video, in Japan, z32 is not that popular because it's old, heavy, and suck gas, there are many others cheaper to run and abuse car to pick from.

Reason for that is a bit more complicate, for one there is the cozy relationship b/w gov and big automaker that drive down the value of used car so that it is much worthwell to buy brand new car than used. And there is also the culture of buying new car than getting used car in japan, even if it means buying some tiny 15sec-to-60mph 60hps stationwagon-it is new! with their highly developed public transportation created by its dense population, most don't need a car, but when they do, they want a new car. All and all created the situation where less updated old car like z32 is left out of tuning scenc, and in which nissan is really not solely responsible.

and if there is not a great aftermarket in japan, there less likely be one in the US. After all, us is the land where chysler sell more cars than the number one japan auto brand, toyota, and nissan is way behind toyota. We can blame ourselves playing in a narrow field, but i say it is well worth it.

...crap, i am a car nuts
