Makes me regret having an aftermarket fascia already. I think fiberglass fascias got their bad rep from the unpainted, misaligned, uncared for bodykits found on ricers. Some cars have entire body panels composed primarily of fiberglass like almost all generations of Corevettes and Lotus Esprits without any worries from owners.
If the owner doesn't skimp on the paint/install process and practices care when driving (as they should with any pricey and lowered car) then fiberglass is fine.
Also lol @ the above suggestions of simulated crash testing. Honestly I think that most of those complaining of the Escort fascia being made in frp rather than urethane are probably not even in the market for a new fascia.
