Is there any research on the placement of the caliper in relation to the vehicle's stopping power. I've noticed that our Z's stock location is great for most cars but it's no secret that slowing down an almost 4ton Z32 with 2 caliper pistons is a bit under developed. I got into this discussion when I noticed the trend of putting it on the opposite side from most motorcycle manufacturers. I also noticed this trend not only on some motorcycles but some high end cars & brake setups. Is there something in the placement that would aid in surface area performance or is the is done for something minor like brake dust dissipation? Just was curious to see what info was out there.
