Message When we started untuned, at like 14psi it was only like 303, 330 tq I think is where we started...

The injectors came from another TT.Net member who had been using them with no issues... they're working great in Bobby's Z for the time being...

After the first three runs we attempted to start turning up the boost but each time I increased the level on the Profec B the boost actually dropped... and we quickly found he'd blown a clamp on a pressurized hose... once that was fixed we were back in business.

No audible detonation of any kind, and an A/F of about 12.5 across the range with the wideband in the tailpipe... so its probably still a little rich, but I didn't want to lean it out any more for safety reasons.

Highest levels were what Bobby posted... 341hp, 394tq SAE corrected. On the final run we made tweaking the A/F the numbers had dropped a little due to heat soak... the last run was like 333/376 I think corrected. When the guy turned the correction off... that 376tq was more like 393... so if the correction had been turned off on the 341/394 run it would have read a lot higher... but hence are correction factors.

Most runs were done in 3rd. I asked the guy about this and he said the dyno had a correction factor for gearing... we did a run in 4th and I believe it was a touch higher, but not much. Actually the high run might have been in 4th... I lost count of runs... I think we made 11 runs in an hour and a half with tinkering here and there.

We got a few suggestions from the shop where we dyno'd. He said the engine was cutting out at the high RPMs blowing out the flame so to speak, and said gapping the plugs down, to say 0.025 would help (I'm fairly certain they're at 0.035 at the moment but I'm not 100% sure). And the boost is wavering and falling off as it goes... it spikes so about 18/19 right at first, then drops to 17, then falls to 15, then continues to fall to about 13 by the end of the run...

I was expecting higher HP numbers, but TQ was right where I thought it would be... I'm fairly certain this is due to the 2.25" DPs & TPs Bobby has... if he went with the 2.5" pipes from SpecialtyZ, his HP numbers may increase some... but I'm not sure what it would do to the TQ.

We're also going to tweak with the settings on the Profec B when we get the chance to try and stop the wavering in the boost levels... Dip switches were on the factory setting, and we hadn't brought the manual with us to adjust the settings...

But overall all things considered these were fairly good numbers. The car drives rather well, with quick spool and good initial pull. Overall I was happy. I would have liked to have had more time to gap the plugs down and tweak the boost controller, but I wasn't expecting those to be issues so I didn't have the proper tools, or the time on hand as Bobby had a "budget" we were sticking too for time... so... there is room to go on this Z, but I don't think the Turbos can produce much more... it was still backfiring a little and puffing black smoke on the runs... so maybe if I can convince Bobby to get some 2.5" pipes, and some widebands there would be more room for tuning...

Later...
