if you put a finger nail into it, it will not leave an inprint. rubber lines will leave an inprint that will not immediately rebound.
silicon lines are 'sticky', especially to each other, unless it is dirty.
rubber lines are not sticky to each other.

i dont have a NDT (non-destructive testing) method for silicon tubing handy.

just make sure the silicon tubing wall thicknees equals, or is greater then the ID of the tubing you are buying. otherwsie, it will collapse easily.
