Message	Maybe that's what he's thinking of. 84-89 Z's had gas struts to hold up the hood. I can't say I was a big fan of them. They fail and many find an appropriate length stick, rod, etc. to hold the hood up. I guess they're popular for car shows though. The chrome bodied struts can look nice.
