I've been running on my stock chrome wheels w/ 225/50/16 F & 245/45/16 R, but I want to get some 17s this year. I need new Victoracers anyway, and would like to eventually do a big brake upgrade, so since I'm already spending the money for tires, I figure I should go ahead and get larger wheels that will allow bigger brakes and wider tires as well. I am trying to decide if I should go with 17x9s all around w/ 255/40/17 Victoracers, which would allow rotation of the tires for potentially longer tire life, or go with 17x10s in the back w/ 275/40/17 tires. Any suggestions? Should I maximize the width at each corner, or go for balance and rotational flexibility of the same size all around?
