its not based on knowing which cards have been played, its about knowing how many high cards are left. A card count is basically one number, every high card that comes out, you +1, every low card, you -1. Divide your count by the number of decks being used. Your raise your bet when you got a high chance of high cards, and lower your bet when the dealer has a high chance of catching a low card and not busting. There you go :) Black jack is one of the only games where you have the same odds or better(counting) then the casino, and if played smart, over time you will win. You'll lose some and win some in short term, but long term you always win if you play smart. Many professional blackjack players are banned for life from casinos. last weekend saw me up $250 at Atlantic City. weekend before that I was up $150 :)
