and is not your fault (stated by the police and the insurance and documented and you must have hard copies of everything), then the next thing to do is to call your lawyer and discuss your options, you might be able to get money, etc etc, but the most important thing, to make sure the a$$hole that crashed into you won't try to screw you up even more. In south Florida, or better, Miami and nearby cities, that happens about 9 out of 10 times. Some moron crashes into you, he/she is the responsable, police makes the report, insurance pays you (his/hers), you think you are fine and safe, and the next thing, you can not get money out of your own bank account cause he/she just opened a case against you and you don't even know it and the judge already order to freeze your accounts, credit cards, etc etc... And yes, is legal, and yes, if you don't spend money to hire a good lawyer (or many), you will end up paying for something you didn't even do. Is good to know the system works.
