The PRVR system was bypassed by Greg Dupree .. so it is not a factor here. The vacuum outlets where properly caped. The auxiliary fan started kicking in, only after the "boom" incident that caused the car to start idling like crap. At this stage I just stated to diagnose the problem, when I noticed that it was loosing coolant and there was no leaks, I started adding coolant and that's when I also noticed a big puff of white steam coming out of the exhaust at start up. So then I reached the conclusion that for some reason, on that moment the head gasket blew, then the water started evaporating through the pipes the next day, and when the coolant got low enough, the auxiliary fan started kicking in, and that's when I realized that I blew the head gasket. Before that "blowing" moment, I had no problem with the car heating up or the auxiliary fan every kicking in. Actually the car never over heated during the 7 years I owned it. The only other thing I could think off, is the loose right turbo to IC hose, where the clamp was not tightened. Other than that everything else was running perfect, with many new parts...Koyo radiator, timing belt, water pump, thermostat.. new injectors, all new water and fuel hoses under the plenum. The car run fine with JWT chip for 2 weeks, till the "lost in the mail" chip got in, and this happened the same day I put your chip in.
The trouble with doing something right the first time is that nobody appreciates how difficult it was.
