I live in Detroit also where the roads are horrible. Now I have only driven my car about 2k miles since I had all the bodywork done, but their is no signs of any cracking. My car is not a daily driver, and I don't "beat" on her when I drive it, so I wasn't too worried about it. The possibility is their of course that it may crack, that is just a risk you have to decide if you are willing to take. For me personally it was wort it, I did not want my pieces to look 'tacked on', and the fact that it is molded really makes the car look like it came that way from the factory. Labor on a project like this would also cost a ton, and it's not a quick process. it's definetely somehting you don't want the shop to rush. I would not have had the funds to do somehting like this had I not had connectiosn, luckily the shop that did the bodywork for me was family owned. here are a few pics:

BEST MOTTO TO REPLACE "IT’S A GREAT TIME IN DETROIT" "Detroit: Where the roads give massages and the hookers are cheap." "Detroit: At least the suburbs are nice." "There’s mo’ to do in Motown." "Detroit: The realest place on the planet." "Detroit – we’re workin’ on it!" "You can see Canada from here." "Detroit – it doesn’t suck so bad." "It’s not pretty, but it’s fun."
