I would not suggest doing it this way. My car has been up for the winter, so I can afford to spend time here and there on it. It takes a ton of patience. The only part I have to remove yet is the tube from the exhaust manifold to the EGR, which I am going to attempt by jacking up the car and removing the DS down pipe. This would be nearly impossible if you have the stock pre-cats on a TT, not sure about an NA. HOWEVER, the only reason I am doing this is to eliminate what was a possible air leak. I'm still not sure if it was this, the small piece of PCV tube, or the plenum gasket. I'm also upgrading my injectors and powdercoating the valve covers, and other things. I don't think anyone has dynoed before and after effects of removing the EGR, and if I were you I would spend my time and energy elsewhere. I'm doing it for maintenance reasons only, and in Upstate NY, I only have 'visual inspection' on pollution control devices.
