Message	on those kind of cars you would do this: like a shift from 1st to second- 1. push clutch in throw stick to neautral 2. get rpms up enough to smoothly shift into gear. 3. depress clutch, shift into second and let out. I am almost positive this is how it is/was in old cars. hope that helped -Josh
