Message Greg stated that there have been 4 failures that he knows of, 5 if Speedy1003's was not reported to him. Five faulty products out of appx 1200 manufactured. That's a total of 0.004% of the products made that have failed. Even if there were 100 reported cases of Greg's DP failing that's still only 0.08%. That looks to be a very small failure:success ratio and obviously a "fluke" as far as I see it.

Your ECU has failed at least once. I don't know how many you've sold or how many have actually failed, but I'm sure it is also a very small percentage. Would you concider your ECU a POS product that isn't worth anyone spending their money on because a few have failed? For some reason I don't think so.

I'm not trying to bash you or any one else associated with Z1, I'm a satisfied Z1 customer and have never had a problem with you guys, but you, Ash, seem to be insuating(sp?) that GD's DP isn't worth its weight in mud because a handful of them have failed. I think it's pretty impressive that so many DPs have been sold and so few have failed, just as I have confidence in your ECU knowing that ONLY 1 that I know about has failed, in fact I'm looking at it for my next major purchase. I don't own a TT, but if I did I would not hesitate to give Greg a call for some DPs.

Too many of you guys here on tt.net look at things from the wrong angle. It's not neccessarily how many products turned out to be bad, it's a matter of how may have succeded when compared to how many have been produced. Just my opinion though.

Chris
