Message whether I would try to make a few extra bucks or not. But I dont care anymore. It's a fun side project and if anyone wants to try it...have at it.
The I/C's are from the 87-89 Ford Turbocoupe. They dont come like you see them in the pic. There's a flat hood seal that's welded to one side. I cut the welds and removed it. Then I take it to the hanger with me and use an awsome commercial bandsaw for cutting sheetmetal and drop the one tank off. (cuts it like butter!) Then off to the same quality belt sander to smooth out the cuts and take the welds down flush, and a small angle for rewelding.
Then cut the necks off because one is too small and one is pointing the wrong direction for use on the driverside.
There's also some small mounting pods similar to the stock I/C's that I cut off and sand flush too.
It's now ready for rewelding the tank and necks back on but I wanted to remove the paint from the core. The only suck part here is cleaning the paint from the fins but it eventually gets washed out.
Then I degreased them and that's where I'm at.
I need to remove the fascia and test fit them before I run them to the shop for welding. I'll need to fit the mounting tabs and such. It's going to take a couple off times R&R'ing the fascia before they finally get mounted. reason is I have to drive the car for work. It's my commuter.
