anyone in his life that knows anything about cars except that you put the key in, turn it, and the car is supposed to start. I thank the heavens that I came from a real family, with a mother & father that never divorced. Also, I was lucky that my father was a 23 year career Air Force crew chief(B-17's to B52's: WWII ETO, Korea, Viet Nam, plus a bunch of other classified operations), and he almost always made me help him when he worked on cars, boats, lawnmowers, anything mechanical as well, from toasters to washing machines. The man could fix absolutely anything! As a result, some of his skills rubbed off on me. Now, I will never be the mechanical whiz that he was, but I am confident and competent enough to do most of my own automotive repairs when I have the time and disposition to do so. I have had some things not come out as planned such as botched carb rebuilds, fried electronics, etc., etc. ....and I have had great successes, a 120 mph sleeper '68 VW Bug during H.S. years (very scary, wouldn't recommend this for a high schooler! =O) ) , up to and including all of the mods on my Z32 (without tt.net it would have been alot more difficult!!) Anyway, what I'm getting at is, I actually feel sorry for this kid. I hate seeing all of the "Christ, what a total dumbass" comments in the above posts. At least, hopefully he learned something from his mini-disaster attempt at car maintenance. I hope that he finds someone that cares enough to teach him how to care for his car properly. Unfortunately, that will probably not happen, and the Z boneyard will have another carcass in the near future. :-( Thanks for listening, and try to show a little compassion for the less fortunate. Pass on some knowledge and save a Z32!
