| I need suggestions for stereo equipment. I havn't bought car stereo in a while now and don't know whats good these days. In particular the head unit - It needs to play MP3 data discs and preferably FFWD thru MP3 songs (my kenwood z828 won't do that now). I'm upgrading my Z32 TT stereo system. Its got factory bose cassete + center and 4 speakers. One speaker/amp is buzzing all the time driving me insane. As much as I love to listen to the purr of my Z, I want a stereo. Its all going to be pulled out. I need a headunit, component set in the front, coax's in the rear, a sub box that allows my t-tops and amps. My DD is already equipped but space wasn't a concern in a 4-door dodge stratus. I have a orion component set, soundstream rear fill, kenwood z828 head, kicker 12" L7 sub and a 800.4 and 800.2 amps. I don't see how the sub will fit, much less the 2 big amps. The orion set is kinda old and I'd like to replace it. The orion and soundstream speakers run native 2ohm stereo. So, for those of you so bored as to read this and actually be thinking about it, send me suggestions on the following: Headunit that can FFWD thru MP3 songs (want a nice color screen but don't want to spend much over $400). I've seen Alpine units that I dig: CDA-7897, but I don't know if the moving face fits in the Z right? Front component set. Sound quality most important here. Rear fill. Subwoofer. Either JL Audio stealth or custom fab enclosure. I'd love to use my L7 in the Z (can't lose t-top storage though). Amp or Amps. Either a nice 5-channel amp or something new and small or find a way to fit my 2 fosgates in the car. Battery/Cap. I am definitely under the 1,000 watts category, don't really know the strain to the battery/alternator but I'd buy a better battery if deemed necessary. I will use my existing gear or sell it to supplement the new upgrades. My budget is about $1,000 + equipment I already have which can be used in the Z or sold for cash. Thanks!
