I've read lot's of posts where people wish the Z had a more open intake design (open as in between sides) to allow for better balance. At higher power levels, the balance tube is felt by some to not be adequate. And in the situation of one turbo seizing, you'd be asking that tube to take half of ALL the air on one side and dump it to the other side. It'll work to some extent, but it wouldn't be very effective I don't think.
