Message full potential of your car. But a happy median should be met so that neither the car or driver aren't operating at there full potential without the other. I have auto crossed for years and in that time I learned a lot techniques from the older guys and some self learned as well. These skills proved to be very important after moving up to my 300ZX TT. But after a only a few Sundays of auto crossing with it, I got to the point of where you have to upgrade in order to increase you times and satisfaction. Which was a factor that brought me to write the original thread about more broad tuning. One more point that actually will support your thread is when the guys with 500+ HP cars i.e. vetts, stangs, supras, etc.. come to our events most of them have a problem applying that power to the track and usually have embarrasing wipe outs leading to costly DLQ's.
