Message And the slap will usually go away once the engine warms up.

We (JS not SPL) put together a motor with excessive piston
slap and despite the fact that it runs ok we're going to rebuild
it for free just because it sounds like ass. In that case it
doesn't stop slapping till it hits about 145mph I noticed and
that's just not right.

Another motor we built (both have JEs) slaps a little at first
start but goes away rapidly as the pistons absorb some heat.
