Message you a trick for doing Dyno's on Automatics :)

You were saying you had to start the dyno at 4K to keep it from down shifting.....
This is very simple to get around.
All you need to do is unplug the transmission wiring harness where it plugs in on top of the passenger side fender.
The way the electronics are designed it works perfect for the dyno. What happens when it is unplugged is that the 2 shift soliniods will not get power and when they are both off it is in direct. (3rd gear)

Also it is completely safe because the line pressure soliniod makes full line pressure when it has no power.

All you need to do is unplug the harness and put the shifter in drive and it will be in 3rd gear and it will stay there.
Something else I like to do is get the wheels rolling on the dyno and put power to the converter lock up soliniod where you have unplugged the harness. This locks up the torque converter.

When you have done these two things it will be in direct (1 to 1) ratio with the converter locked up. This will not only keep it from kicking down into second , But will get as much power to the dyno rollers as possible. Then the only loss you have is running the transmission pump.
You can load you motor and turbos more and have a closer comparison to a stick dyno.

Hope that helps and go do a 9!!!!
