As you should know. Rubber, plastic, electrical tape, sensors, seals, gaskets, grounds, belts all deteriorate over years of heating up and cooling down. Given the fact that he lives in FL where 80 degree's seems to be the Avg. all year temp there, then all the more so that there problems would arise. Even when one goes to buy a lower mileage Z that far under 60K, they should always replace the timing belt just to be safe. As so given he only listed two items, that's a highly reliable rating return for him. Because one part ( PTU is a defect and the other is a cheap normal wear part ). Think about all the suspension parts that wear or loosen over time and that's with the car just sitting there. Things that are common to look for are some of these aside from things mentioned. Alternators kinda give out around 90k and above ( replaced mine ) Injectors have no time table, but start looking around 100k Water pumps Starters Shocks/Springs stock rotors warping Power steering pump and hose HICAS system ( 90 to 93 ) Little systems like sending units, fan clutch, I.A.A unit, E.G.R, solenoids, A.A.C and F.I.C.D valves etc, etc. The cars did receive a 5 star rating for reliability, so that's piece of mind, yet sure most of us have heard and seen some friends cars have issues with lower miles on it. There's no guarantee on any life span on a moving, operating, mechanical system. Look at these pictures and see that given so much engineering has gone into these car. It's highly reliable.
