Message I was hoping to keep this one under wraps for...well for ever.

ZCON 2K3 track day (much better than the car show, FYI). I had to wake up at 5:00 and leave the hotel to get to the track on time. I got inspected and blessed to go out with the amature group, except one thing..no helmet. So I needed to borrow one from someone who was in a different class.

So I find one and there is literally 10 minutes left till my group was going out, but I still had my street pads on the car, and wanted to change them to the Hawk Blues before I went out, for safety/durability. I had just done the brakes the week before, so everything was still very familiar to me. I borrowed Chris' jack and got both sides up after loosening the 10 front lug nuts. I began work on the passenger side when they called my group, and I decided I had no time to do it now, I'll wait untill I have a break before my next session. I put the passenger wheel back on, tighten it up, lower the car down, helmet on, out on the track and off I go.

Everything was cool, I wasn't driving too hard, just getting familiar with the course. On the 9th-10th lap, I hear a loud creaking/rubbing noise from my drivers side. I begin to worry "did I beat the shit out of my brakes already, WTF is that noise? Shit"

As I pull into the pits, it gets louder. So I pull into my bay, and get ready to jack it up and take a look. I crack the driver side lug nuts...but wait they're already loose.

I forgot to tighten them before I went out. I drove 10 laps at NHIS with my driver's side front wheel lug nuts cracked loose. I thank my lucky stars, kicked my self in the nuts, and told Bernie, out of sheer amazement that I could have been that absent minded. Bernie told me not to do that again, and I agreed.

Hence the term, loose nutz
