stock motor mounts are usually made out of a soft rubber compound. This lends itself to the same issues of stock suspension bushings, deterioration, soft smushy feeling, etc. Poly bushings are said to be better because they don't deteriorate as bad a rubber and they are stiffer allowing for less movement thus not allowing the elasticity to break down as much (poor wording owns me). Similar to stretching a rubber band out a bunch of times in a row, it weakens and eventually breaks. Solid mounts are generally not recommended for engines on the street due to the constant bumps and vibration. non-solid mounts absorb some of this shock. with solid mounts, this shock is translated directly to the engine and bolts holding the mounts. since the engine weighs so much this, can be a lot of stress and you can eventually shear off the bolts. In high power applications solid mounts also transfer the power to the ground better due to less driveline flex. I am not sure if all these apply to the Z32 this is just my past experience with other cars. hope it helps.
