Message Some had a spring and one of the Nissan’s ones had a metal spring dish if I remember correctly.

And as far as using the Amsoil for racing, I would disagree. I rather have adequate filtering while racing than superior filter. For one I would likely be changing the oil before and after I run a track event and second I rather have more free flowing less restrictive oil flow that offers at least minimal filtering. That is of course unless I was doing some off road through the desert Baja type of racing. Having a tight filter element that is restrictive during racing could be a really bad thing, even though it offers a bypass valve. What if it’s so restrictive that most oil bypasses the filter element, what good is it then? Who knows different opinions different point of views…..it’s all good.
