Message Okay, first off, I think I'm going to put my foot in my mouth, but ... here goes. I'm not recommending one product against the other, but let me put my thoughts out.

First off, if they are indeed copies, then by all means, Greg Dupree needs to put a patent or copyright on it. But how do we all know that they are indeed exact copies? Can we take one person's/company's word for it?

Even if it were a copy, someone else has made a good enough similar product for an affordable price. Granted, not everyone has enough money nor the need to buy something that was engineered for the Space Shuttle.

How many people have actually found the flow difference between 2.5" and 2.25"? How does that compare to the stock precats? I think anything is better than the stock precats. Again, it is what we look for.

As far as the welds, I can only say you get what you pay for. I'm no expert on welds, but how many people with the RVM products can actually say they have had it crack on them? If some of the retailers sell them, they look for an alternative -- something that customers have as a cheaper alternative. It's not because they want to put Specialty Z out of business. As for Greg's free set of pipes for the first person to crack the RVM pipes, I really don't see an honest reason. Is it so that he can claim that RVM pipes do really crack? I can see a marketing reason if Specialty Z offers a discounted price to people who have cracked the RVM pipes, but not a free set to the FIRST person only. On the same lines as the inconel manifolds, what if RVM started selling flex pipes with their RVM pipes?

If the Dupree pipes do really stand up to what he says, then they will sell themselves.

In conclusion, for the price the RVM pipes can't be beat. But if you want and can afford something superior, by all means buy the Duprees.
