If you race the hell out of the car and do 5000rpm drops, sure your going to kill the steel inserts that come with two piece flywheels or get hotspots on the one piece wheels. But if you drive, race some, you should be fine for years ( key word there ). If you plan on racing more than driving, there are flywheels made for that as well, both RPS and Fidanza have ones made to take more punishment. It's the materials used on the Flywheel side of the disc that cause the problems. Your looking for longevity in racing parts and those two really don't mix. RPS also has the strongest presure plate out there for the Z32. So your adding massive clamping force and the weakest link with give.
Unsprung hubs will bite harder and thus beat up the surface more.
Unless you stay away from metal pucks which are strongest and go with a Kevlar like here ( which is not as strong ), then you risk flywheel damage. Unless you upgrade the flywheel insert or go with the RPS wheel.
This is a standard Fidanza wheel, which is the same as ClutchMasters one ( only different color, blue ). You can replace that center steel contact secton with a Carbon Steal insert for $100 more.
