That's not to say that the competitors are unsafe, but no matter what tales people want to tell about all the ECUs, there is NOTHING better than years and years of quality reviews and service. I find it funny when people say things like "JWT is just the name" or "You're just buying it because of the name". That's just horseshit marketing...pretty bad marketing in fact. If there's something better out there that has proves itself beyond a shadow of a doubt, it will easily take over as long as the word gets out. Lately there's been no problem with that. In my opinion, none of the other chips been completely put to the test just yet, nor can they expect to have been. To me, gaining a few horsepower here and there isn't worth the risk on a car that I love to death and drive daily. It's far too early in the game. Some of the reviews of Devin's include it running far too rich and the timing isn't really as tweaked as one would expect when shopping the competition. Maybe he's planning on more changes, I don't know. The Ashspec has a lot more work put into it and it shows. Even so, I'm not entirely sold on it just yet. Especially since the one feature it really had sold me on (safety over the JWT) has been shown to not be the case. Or at least not as big of a deal as I once thought. At least, that's how I and a bunch of others see it. Based on the "school of thought" from Ash, the chip is great and perfect. Upon further reading and discussion, not many agree with that and I have yet to see a valid or backed up argument to their claims. You could say I've switched from thinking the JWT needed improvement in that area to thinking it is just fine. That's not to say JWT couldn't use some improvement though so I'm glad to see people branching out to dethrone them. You can't just sit on a single program for a decade without any changes. With any luck JWT will wake up and alter things a bit or one of the competitors will put ego aside and make things perfect so there can be NO argument. Both of those are longshots unfortunately. So for now, I run a JWT and I'm quite happy with it. This is MY opinion. If anyone has a problem with it, they can email me.
