Message (safety) map. The main reason JWT keeps their maps the same is because If the timing is retarded at high RPM you can very easily blow your engine. Your engine will knock, melt, whatever and YES your temp will rocket! Detonation means meltdown. Why do you think it happens? Greg pointed it out very well and its actually common knowledge especially when refering to turbo'd engines. Thanks Greg!

Does everyone think JWT only tunes for the 300zx? Go to their website and see. They know what they are doing.

Also FYI squeezing an extra 5-10hp out of a car being tuned is not going to create a holey grail chip thats going to give the same results in every car it's put in. Promoting that and pushing dyno sheets of the car being tuned is BS sales tactics IMO. Nobody is complaining about losing power with the JWT chip that I know of. Their chip was very sensibly tuned but it seems some people can't see that or just does not want to admit it for SOME REASON.

Don't get me wrong, theres nothing wrong with experimenting with tuning and what your doing and theres nothing wrong with posting your comments on what you believe to be true.

I was originally going to post this reply to Russell@Z1's post regarding "The statement is just plain wrong" but I didn't want to drift to far from your original post since you started it :)

Heres some info if you or anyone else wants to school themself a little more on such things as retarding timing at high RPM and the dangers associated with it.
