considering I've personally tuned over 60 cars, have over 100 hours on the dyno with broad ranges of uniquely configured Z32s, and have probably the most real-world Z32 tuning experience with only those credentials. Not to mention the PC in my car with the ZEM, Conzult and DAQ capability of which are always running when I'm in my car and I've put 75,000 miles on it since I've owned it, 70,000 of those with DAQ, 35,000 of them with conzult and 30,000 of them with the ZEM. .... and I'd have to agree with Nicks position in the majority of the matters at hand. Its funny really; since Devin's release of ECU information everyone considers themselves a 'tuner' and forget the fact that they have little to virtually no experience. With all of the cars I've tuned and the variations of the parts on said cars, the mental model of how the powerplant works in my mind is amazing; everything from the air passing through the MAS right down to the propogating flame front in the combustion process on a single power stroke reflects like slow-motion video with the mathematical model windowed just below it. I know right down to the single timing mark what the end result is going to be and several people who have gone to the dyno have witnessed me 'guess' right down to the actual horsepower, torque, and A/F they're going to see before the pull is over.... and that comes from experience.. I'm not taking your commentary here as an attack on me, my name wasn't even mentioned in any of these threads.. But what I am simply saying is that Nixit's position on the matter is commendable; safe is safe .... and for you to say you are an experienced tuner who built an engine that failed on the dyno either for lack of tuning experience or lack of knowledge in building an engine is simply a statement I will politely disagree with.. If you can't build an engine that will hold together, you can't convince me that you are within the realm of calling yourself a tuner..
