Message Charles' Law

If the temperature of a fixed mass of gas is increased and the volume remains constant, then the pressure of the gas will increase.

In other words,
The volume of the intercooler is fixed. It doesn't change. Gases take up the entire space of a container. When you take the same volume of gas and compress it, temperature goes up and pressure goes up and vice versa.
