Message What Im saying really has nothing to do with derivatives of Boyles laws or the properties of ideal gases. By capacity of the stock intercooler Im referring to the capacity of the volume of metal, its thermodynamic properties, external flow properties and obviously its total internal and external surface area which equate to its ability to store and transfer the kinetic energy from the turbo air to the atmosphere.

I have not seen one shred of proof (and am happy to be shown some) that any upgraded side mounts increase this capacity when we are dealing with stock turbos at 17psi of boost. Stock intercoolers are more than capable of transferring this amount of finite heat energy, after all due to the laws of thermodynamics you can only cool the turbos air temp by so much. I think that upgraded side mounts do no more than stock in these circumstances. Sure with larger turbos or more PSI (moving the turbo outside its effecient range) you can get benefits from upgraded sidemounts but not until then.

I will explain it better when I make up cause iM not sure Im making too much sense right now.
