| Actually that's a very interesting question since it was only ever the Amercian market models which had the lock fitted. In Europe and Japan they are all 'lock-less'! Is America really so dangerous that you have to lock the roof to your car?? :-) I'm guessing that as previously mentioned it's more to do with liability protection for when someone really does pull the handle at 80 mph. It would be less of an issue outside of the states, especially 15 years ago, when this car was designed. Any thoughts?
