| The turbos out of the 90 JSpec clip (5sp) that I used for my swap have .63 A/R on the turbine housings, just like US Spec 5 speed turbos. According to Greg Dupree, the difference between US Spec auto vs manual is the A/R of the turbine housing (.48(I think) vs .63). The compressor housing is the same. 1+1 leads me to believe that the 5 speed Jspec turbos are the same as US Spec. I do not know how the theory that JSpec turbos = auto turbos got started, but I believe that the vast majority of JSpec TT's are auto. If so, then the vast majority of motors coming over will also be auto, and hence making people think they are all that way. Dunno. Just food for thought.
