In Reply To taxes or laws, who cares? The fact is that the JDM motors posted by Ieatv8s on December 21, 2003 at 09:38 AM

Message that the Japanese emissions control laws require a new motor every 50,000 km. They usually end up buying new cars.

Stock vs Stock, whcih is better, a 300Z TT or a 3000GT TT? I do know that that the 3000GT TT weighs a lot more...

Like Sportzcoop said, that is a pretty vague question. However, I'll expound on that some more, but it'll be just my opinion of what is better. Both are good cars and both can be made to go faster. But here are my opinions:

300ZXTT
at the forefront of the Japanese sports car arena
classic and lasting style
limited rearward visibility
2-seater layout makes a sports car
longitudinal engine drives rear wheels gives seamless power delivery
RWD makes racecar feel
HICAS makes it a heavy car
better aftermarket support
functional cockpit interior design
Nissan is known for better initial quality and long-term reliability than Mitsubishi

3000 GT VR-4
late to the ballfield
conventional coupe styling
good outward visibility
2+2 layout qualifies for lower insurance rates
transverse engine inherently drives front wheels
AWD chassis gives grip all around with torque steer
AWD makes it a heavy car
relatively less aftermarket support
classic interior design (based on the original 240Z)
Mitsubishi is ranked even behind Mazda for reliability issues (why do you think they teamed up with Chrysler Corp?)

The list goes on and on ...
