cheap considering what you would save on prototyping and manual testing. It's only feasable for something you intend on producing and selling, it would be a total waste of money for a one-off project as the gains would be nowhere near worth the investment for either simulated modeling or manual prototyping. IMHO, Seat of the pants "that looks like it would work well" is best for oneoffs.
