| The unfortunate part about the new ECUs used in the 350/G35 is the fact it is a proprietary architecture, developed by Nissan. Only they have the schematics and information on that little chip in the black box which makes the reverse engineering of that device utterly impossible. Everything can be reverse engineered. If you can engineer it, someone else can reverse engineer it. If you remember, a little while back people were trying to claim that OBDII couldn't be cracked and that this was the reason that the 96 Z32's ECU couldn't be modded. I claimed that it was plenty possible and there simply wasn't a big enough market at the time. Enter the 350Z and its OBDII ECU, and suddenly modded 96 Z ECU's were available Give it time. The 350Z ECU will be cracked, proprietary or not. I doubt an Nissan is going to develop their own IC's, they use off the shelf hardware.
