| I have driven both extesively and I still prefer my Z. It is roomier, more luxurious, faster, and handles better. The fit and finnish of my car are far better than that of the 350Z. I even sold them for a year and I can tell you many of the issues and differences are first hand. Reliablitly has not been an issue. I bought my 96 with 23K a little under 3 years ago. It just ticked over 96K and the only problems I have had, have been my own doing or normal maintenance. Any other issues I have ever had have been directly related to upgrades or work not being done right the first time. If you are looking at a 300ZX (or a 350Z for that matter) as a fun tuner car that is easy to upgrade, easy to care for, or can be cheaply owned, you are in the wrong state of mind. And don't even consider a RX-7, Supra, 3000GT, Camaro, Corvette, or Mustang as options either. You need to be looking at a Civic. Anybody who has spent any time with sports cars of any type will tell you the same thing. Unless you are going to leave the car bone stock and use it a daily driver for a few years and then get something new. They are a hobby of love and passion. None of them are cheap and none are easy. Every car gets old and every car has maintenance issues. I own my car because I love it. I love the way it looks. I love the way is feels. I love how people see me in it. I love the car because I enjoy what it is and what it will be. I enjoy talking to people about it. If that ever changes I will get something different.
