Message If any of you are planning to buy this system or have a system like this that is in the direct path of air flow
in the front of the car where you can see the filters like
this. (Meaning having no splash shield)
DO NOT DRIVE THESE CARS IN HEAVY RAIN!!!
I have seen this on many customers cars lately. This is very dangerous!!!!
Someone on the net is even selling homemade kits with scoops on the front directing air in. This is fine for the track, But not for cars that need to be driven in the rain.
I have had 2 customers come in with hydrolocked motors from this very thing! One of them had a hole in the side of block
with a connecting rod hanging out!
They had no idea that this was going to happen to them. Both of them had friends help them install the filters and they disregarded the splash shields.
I figuered I should say something for those unaware.
If you have a pop charger on your daily driver please look
to make sure that you have a splash shield in place. Even
light rain can ruin a air flow meter.
