Message This is strickly from a professional standpoint, please don't take offense. You are offering a product for a substantial amount of money, so I feel that it is ok to air constructive critism based on that fact.

The software interface is really nice. You have obviously spent a lot of time and effort to code that. :thumbs up:

The hardware implimentation is where I think things could be improved. I don't think it is a good idea to run a car off of an emulator. Even if the romulator stores the program in flash memory you still have the ribbon cable that the data has to travel down opening things up for RFI interference, and slow access times. The ECU was designed for a very high speed bus.

Also, tapping into the ECU wires for CAS and MAS and using a labjack to interpret the analog signals for map tracing...this adds a lot of extra work/components. You obviously understand how to code data polling, so why not just use the serial port that is built into the 6303 MC (consult)? You can aquire both of those sensor's data right from there and not have to add additional hardware.

Again, this is from a professional standpoint, and asking $750 for a product invites critism.

I think you are doing great things, and have pioneered a lot of ECU development, so thank you for that. I do think there is a better way to have a reliable robust real-time solution though besides relying on an emulator to run the car all of the time (mainly because of the ribbon cable).

Also, for the record, this has nothing to do with ZControl whatsoever. ZControl is a bin file editor. It allows a friendly interface to edit map values, and various other things. It does NOT allow real-time tuning, and you must have an EPROM burner, or access to one to burn the new bin files to EPROM chips, etc. real-time is planned, but is not pertinent to this post at this time.

Mike
