I've had both surgerys you described, although the tonsils many years ago. The deviated septum surgery was a piece of cake. Much less painful and quicker recovery time than I ever expected. Had it on a Thursday and was back to work on Monday. The worst part was having to breathe through my mouth and have gauze up my nose for about 4 days after the surgery. (look forward to a little sore throat, probably more so since you're having the tonsils done!) Never had a problem with the snoring but was getting about 4 to 5 sinus infections a year. It's been 5 years since the surgery and I haven't had one sinus infection and only about 3 minor colds in that whole time. You and your GF will be glad you had the surgery.
