Message i just recently signed up on this website...

Congratulations on joining, this site can be of great benefit if you learn how to take advantage of it.

...and all i ever read about is how doing jdm mods and show stuff "ricey" i cant even do custom body work with out it being ricey. if ricey means putting jdm goods on my car because the usd boys havent developed anything than so be it.

JDM mods and "show stuff" are not necessarily ricey--consider members Kaz and Pats300ZX. Many people will call doing JDM ricey if it is done just because it is JAY-DEE-EMM. If you want a JDM engine because you have found a reliable one for a killer deal, then go for it. If you want one because it makes you "different" and think it gives you bragging rights, then you are going to get the flame, especially if it costs the same or more than a reliable USDM engine would. And even though in some ways the USD market is not as varied as the JD market, it isn't as though there aren't quality affordable US parts available.

and besides does a silverado with caddillac tailights get called ricey because he did body mods and big rims. because i make my car look faster than it is makes it ricey.

Most people will call a silverado with caddy tail lights "ricey" because the term has come to encompass both distasteful and stupid "mods". We used to just call it fugly, but... whatever. If you make your car "look" faster without actually making it faster, then that is pretty much the definition of rice. You are putting on a big front like a chick who stuffs her bra.

i am sad to say im a z owner.

If you are only interested in creating a car that looks JAY-DEE-EMM and looks fast, but is really just a common US Z with a few body mods, then we are sad to say that you are as well.

how sad is it when the show winning cars look like they just rolled off the jgtc races. this web site is full of haters.

I have nothing against jgtc cars, because those cars are seriously built for the purpose of racing. Who wouldn't appreciate that? As for show winning cars, that is a really tough topic to tackle. It really depends on what sort of shows you enter. Some shows award cars that are thoughfully modded and kept very well maintained and clean. Other shows award useless hood scoops mounted on roofs and doors that do not have handles. Pats300ZX is an absolutely gorgeous show winning car, and I don't many people would call his car ricey. And, yes, this board is full of haters. Get used to it. A large proportion of members on this board are well educated and more conservative in their opinions of aesthetics. In other words, we basically think that body kits which destroy the lines of the car and purple neon brake caliper accents are fucking stupid.

i dont trash talk about anyones ideas about any car. i dont stereo type it either. but there are some people on here who think they know everything about everything.

It is nice that you don't talk trash about others. It indicates that you at least are open to others' opinions. This post however indicates that you have an insecurity problem which could use a little work though. If you need everyone to tell you how great every idea you have is, then you should go to [ www.cardomain.com. ]

Aand believe it or not, there are a lot of people on this board that are incredibly knowledgeable. They also tend to be very opinionated. All you need to do is learn to accept people's input when you need real information and ignore their speculative opinions. You will learn that skill in time if you don't get all pissy and run away first.

they are the ones that think that the nissan engineers did everything right on this car. they didnt. its not cost effective.

In all truth, no one is perfect, but the engineers did do a hell of a job building a sporty performance GT class car. Keep in mind that this car is a 14 year old car--you can't expect to compare it to new sports cars and blow them away... that would be stupid. And no, it isn't the most economic car. If it were, it would be a honda civic (please not, I am not bashing honda civics, I am praising their engineering).

I think that you will be able to enjoy the benefits of this board, but you will first have to learn to keep an open mind, search, take some time to think before you post, search, don't take things too personally, and don't say something that you know will piss people off unless you really do want to start a shitstorm.

Also, in regards to your post on single exhausts. It is possible to do, but unless you have an aftermarket rear valence and fill one of the exhaust cut-outs, it is going to look off-balance and stupid. It may look off-balance and stupid even if you do actually do all that. The only real benefit that it would provide would be a little bit of weight savings and possibly a small amount of money saved if you only have to replace the parts that come after where it is joined at some later date. One of the problems you risk is keeping the flow optimal; it is very easy to fuck up the flow of the exhaust pulses when you combine the two exhausts. As I understand it, our engine is sort of like a siamese twin; two 1.5 liter 3 cylinder engines that share a few vital organs. If you really want to go with a single exhaust, go ahead and do it, or order one of the few that are available from Japan if you have the cash to blow. It is your car, do whatever. But if it looks like someone fucked your car up and cut one of your mufflers off, then don't get pissy when someone calls you on it.

"The two seater is being joined in a few weeks by a larger two-plus-two model with a rear seat for munchkins." ~Jim Mateja, Chicago Tribune, in regards to the Z32.
