Message I'm still gathering idea's as to how to approach the rebuild on my TT after an unfortunate incident at the track.

I have several options i am entertaining at the moment, and as the time closes in on the time to act, I need to make a choice.

My Overall goal for the car is a mild SP500 setup with the basic go-alongs (Injectors, DP's, TP's, BC, etc) I am already at stage 3 so there is not much further to go, but as a college student trying to maintain a budget, the goal is definately achievable.

The Options:

1. Do a full forged rebuild on the bottom end. This includes Wiseco's from Z1 (polydine coating), eagle H-beam rods, and ARP studs (head, rod, mains) along with a full rotating assembly balance. If this route is chosen most likely the turbos will remain the same (stockers w/92k.)

2. Do a standard rebuild along with ARP studs (once again head, rod, main) along with the balancing. SP500's will be ordered with the possibility of injectors and IC's going in at the same time.

Many people I've talked to recommend just doing the fresh stock rebuild as opposed to the full forged build considering my goals for the car. The main argument is our powerplant has been known to hold the HP quite well that the SP500's aid with.

Plans for the car really dont include anything specific. I have only drag raced once (where the bearing tossed) and never have road raced or auto x'd. I do have plans to race, but it will definately not be a regular thing.

Some will factor in labor costs in with all of this but I do not, I am sponsored by a shop in Central IL where all labor is done free and any machine work is extremely discounted, so the labor doesnt really concern me at this time.

Now on with the advice!

P.S. All the 60k stuff will be performed no matter what (even though I am only at 92k) as well as a new engine harness!
