It still leaves open the possibility of tire failure or some road hazard that you would come up on too fast to react to. If you are going 200 mph and you blow a tire you just turned into a 3000 pound canon ball to everyone else on the road. granted the same thing can happen at 100 but you are much more likely to bring your vehicle to a "safe" stop. I'm sure you've driven over 150 mph before so you know how fast shit is actually going by you at those speeds. I can't say that I've never done it, but it doesn't make it any less dangerous. I love to drive fast. Hell when I was younger, I raced from one town to another (about 11 miles) at speeds well above 140 mph. but when I think back all I can say is "That was stupid." Maybe this guy thoroughly inspected his car and had his tires sonogrammed to ensure there weren't any imperfections that could cause failure. but most people that do that shit on the streets don't. After all, there's a reason race cars have full roll cages and the drivers wear helmets.
